How to Prevent StaffCounter for Android from Being Stopped by Google Play Protection?
By default, Google Play Protect blocks background applications that perform user monitoring in hidden mode, considering them potentially dangerous. Before installing the StaffCounter application, you should configure Play Protect to ensure continuous monitoring. Since Play Protect does not support exclusion lists, we recommend installing a third-party antivirus app for Android that allows adding applications to its exceptions.
1. Disable Security Software Check in Google Play Protect
How to do it:
Open the Google Play Store app → Google Play Menu → Play Protect. At the bottom, disable both options.

2. Turn Off Notifications from Play Protection and Google Services
On Android 8 and 9, simply disabling Play Protect is not enough. After some time, a notification may appear: “Protection is disabled – Enable”. If enabled, it may detect the monitoring app and prompt to delete it.
To prevent these notifications, disable alerts from Google Play Store and Google Play Services. Here’s how:
Method 1:
Open Settings → Notifications.
Find Google Play Store and Google Play Services in the list and disable notifications for both.
Now, Google Play Protection will not interfere with the StaffCounter Android app.
