How to Protect the StaffCounter Application from Kaspersky Antivirus

Kaspersky Antivirus helps protect your computer from various threats, including viruses, spyware, ransomware, and intrusive banners. However, antivirus developers may not recognize all legitimate applications—such as time-tracking software like StaffCounter—and automatically add them to the exclusion list. As a result, users often need to manually exclude StaffCounter from scanning to ensure it runs smoothly.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for adding StaffCounter to the exclusion list in Kaspersky Small Office Security 8.

Start by opening Kaspersky and clicking the Settings button in the lower-left corner.

Navigate to the Additional section, then select Threats and Exclusions.

Click Manage Exclusions.

Click Add or Browse, then locate the C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder.

Select All components and enter * in the Object field.

Repeat the same process for the Downloads folder.

Once completed, two folders will be added to the exclusion list.

Don’t forget to click Save to apply the changes.

Now you can download the StaffCounter application for Windows to the target computer and connect it to your online account.
