Reinstall the StaffCounter agent on Windows
To reinstall or update the StaffCounter program, simply install the new version of the Agent over the existing one.
If you encounter any issues during the process, we recommend the following steps:
- Uninstall the program (see: How to Uninstall StaffCounter from a Computer?)
- Install the Staffcounter agent again.
- Connect it to the server, using the existing device ID code (see: Installing via an Existing Device Code):
Log in to your user account on the data.staffcounter.net server and open the desired department.
Click the Edit icon next to the virtual device name.
You will see the device name and the Device ID — a unique identifier for this device on the server.
This ID allows you to connect the StaffCounter agent to the same virtual device.
When you uninstall the StaffCounter agent from the target computer, the virtual device remains on the server.
After reinstalling the agent, launch it and use the Device ID to reconnect — instead of your login email.
