Managers with shared access can see encrypted data

Managers with shared access cannot view decrypted data by default. All information remains in encrypted, unreadable form.

Shared manager sees encrypted data in unreadable form

To grant access to decrypted data, the director (the account owner granting access) must share their encryption keys with the manager (the account receiving access). In the director’s account, go to the Profile page and back up the keys to a text file.

On the Tools tab, click the Backup Keys command.

Click Backup Keys on the Tools tab

A JSON text file will be downloaded. Open it and change the email address from the director’s to the assistant manager’s email address.

Edit JSON file: replace director's email with manager's email

The director must securely transfer this modified file to the manager. The manager then goes to their own Profile page, opens the Encryption section on the Tools tab, and uses the Restore Keys command to import the file. The system will automatically log them out. After logging back in, the director’s data will be displayed in decrypted form.
