StaffCounter Agent Data Collection

Staffcounter app collects the following data for Windows OS, Mac OS, and Linux. Data is protected with military-grade end-to-end encryption.

StaffCounter agents track employee time spent on the device, collecting data for each active application.
The program also tracks the work of system tasks, such as:
– turn on/off the computer;
– log in to the account by the employee;
– sleep mode;
– exit from sleep mode;
– opening/closing the laptop;
– etc.

Since the program keeps track of the employee’s work time in various applications and also determines the time the employee logs into his account, the time of the first recording of the accounting program will be the time the user starts working at the computer.

By the same principle, the time of the end of the working day is determined. It is worth noting that if an employee did not turn off the computer and went home, a pause begins to be written. But if this pause continues even after the onset of a new day, then it will not be taken into account. Thus, the end time will be set. And at the next user activity – the start time of the next business day.

StaffCounter agents keep track of employee time spent on the device, collecting data for each active application.

The program determines the opening time of the application and the duration of the employee in it. Thus, in a working day, a sequential list of applications that the employee was tearing off is formed, and the time they work on them.

When an employee works on an application, he opens many windows or tabs in it. StaffCounter can track the name of these window titles or tabs.

The StaffCounter program tracks the websites that the employee has opened, and also monitors search queries in popular search engines.

The StaffCounter agent can take screenshots of the employee’s computer during his work and transfer them to the cloud service.
In addition to the image itself, information is transmitted:
– a time when the screenshot was taken;
– an active application on an employee’s device.

The StaffCounter agent can take pictures from the employee’s computer’s webcam during his work and transfer them to the cloud service.
In addition to the image itself, information is transmitted:
– a time when the picture was taken from a web camera;
– an active application on an employee’s device.

The StaffCounter program records keystrokes on the keyboard of a user’s computer.

In the settings of the StaffCounter agents, you can enable the option to record sound from the microphone of the computer (device). The recording will be carried out if the noise level exceeds the value set in the settings.

StaffCounter agents detect inactivity behind the device. Lack of activity means that the keyboard and mouse of the computer are inactive.

In the settings of the department, the head can set the minimum time of inactivity, which will not be considered a break or pause. By default, this time is 2 minutes.

This is done so that the employee does not always actively work with the keyboard or mouse, he can read or watch something. Therefore, it will not be entirely correct to assume that a pause has appeared in the employee’s work.

The program also works in such a way that if, for example, the minimum time of inactivity is 2 minutes, and the employee is absent for 5 minutes, then 2 minutes out of 5 will be recorded as working hours and added to the time of the last active application and only 3 minutes will be paused or a break.

If in the agent’s work settings in your account on data.staffcounter.net set for
The time between screenshots (min) value 100,
then the screenshots will be taken with every mouse click, but no more than 1 time per second.
Here, be careful with the availability of free space for this device in accordance with your package (Basic, Standard, Professional), if there is not enough space, earlier screenshots will be automatically deleted.

The StaffCounter program collects data when working on the Skype application. Controls the correspondence of users.

Deep monitoring is an experimental option that shows when and where the user clicked.
